Library 101: Home

You will conduct research on a topic of your choice throughout Library 101. 

Your research assignments include:

• Research Proposal and Background Research
• In-Depth Research #1
• In-Depth Research #2
• Annotated Bibliography
• Research Presentation Discussion

To complete these research assignments, you will write a research question and find and evaluate at least five sources that help you answer that question. Your sources must include:

• one background information source such as an encyclopedia article;
• one non-fiction book, in either print or ebook form, from the SBCC Luria Library that is not a reference book or textbook;
• one full-text peer-reviewed scholarly article from a library database;
• one visual media source such as a photograph or video; and
• one additional full-text written source, which may be a website.

The information on the following tabs of this guide will help you choose and narrow a topic, identify keywords for your topic, find and evaluate different types of sources, and cite your sources.
