Essay 3

You will write a 3-4 page paper using research and your own ideas to explore a problem that impacts a community you are a part of or that matters to you. Your thesis should answer this question: What is your position on this social issue in terms of why / how it is problematic, and how does it impact any relevant community(ies)?

Sources

You will need to incorporate at least three credible sources into your paper, including:

  • at least one source from a Luria Library database
  • other sources from websites, magazines, journals, newspapers, materials from other classes, interviews, podcasts, documentaries, etc.

Be sure to cite your sources using parenthetical citations in your paper and full citations in a Works Cited list at the end of your essay.

Essay 3 Deadlines

  • Rough Draft due at your conference during Week 10 (worth 100 points)
  • Final draft due Monday, November 4 (worth 15% of your overall course grade)

Essay 4

For Essay 4, you will add additional research and writing about solutions to Essay 3.
