Research Assignment

Working with the chapter of Chicana Movidas assigned to your group, settle on different topics to research in order to respond to the author’s representation of the specific movida. Topics can be information that relates to the social, cultural, or historical context of the movida, or information that relates to other issues or conditions that we need to know about in order to understand the importance of the movida, or connections to other movidas past or future that relate to what these women accomplished. In other words, you are finding ways to respond to the chapter with research to explore this particular movida’s importance and significance.

EACH group member is required to find THREE different sources through research that will then be integrated into the essay. Consider the following types of sources:

  • Book
  • Academic Journal Article
  • Periodical
  • Online only source, such as websites
  • Interview
  • Documentary or Video Footage
  • Oral Histories or other archived information

Your assignments include:

  • Research Proposal and Annotated Bibliography - DUE Thursday, October 7th
  • Outline - DUE Tuesday, October 12th
  • Essay and Visual Representation - DUE Thursday, October 21st
