Autism / Neurodiversity: Support

The mission of the Autism Society of Santa Barbara is to improve the lives of all affected by an “autism spectrum disorder”. They do this by increasing public awareness about the day-to-day issues faced by people living with autism, advocating for appropriate services for individuals across the lifespan, and providing the latest information regarding support, education, advocacy and an active public awareness.

Internationally recognized for its innovative autism research and clinical training, the center is part of the University of California.

The Anti-Defamation League’s Santa Barbara/Tri-Counties Office serves Santa Barbara, Ventura and San Luis Obispo Counties, combating all forms of hatred and bigotry. We handle victim complaints of all forms of discrimination.

AANE works with individuals, families, and professionals to help people with Asperger Syndrome and similar autism spectrum profiles build meaningful, connected lives.

ASA has been a major source for information, research, and referrals, with state chapters that serve local communities since 1965.

NAC is the source of the autism national standards report.

Resources include book and movie recommendations,autistic authors, support perspectives, historic and cultural contexts, resources for kids and parents, accessibility information, and much more.
