What is Banned Books Week?

Banned Books Week is an annual event in September celebrating the freedom to read and highlighting books that have been banned or challenged in libraries and schools. This year's theme, promoted by the American Library Association (ALA), is "Censorship Leaves Us in the Dark: Keep the Light On." Learn more by exploring this guide or going to ALA's website by clicking on the image under "This Year's Theme." Celebrate your freedom to read by picking up a banned book this week and throughout the year!
