  2. Describe the background. Where is the data from? What time period is being studied? What types of archaeological remains or material culture is the author focused on?
  3. Describe the study. What is the overall goal? What is the data/dataset that is being analyzed? How did the author collect the data? What type of analysis did he/she/they conduct?
  4. Describe how the theory or approach is applied. What are the primary interpretations or conclusions? How do these interpretations relate to the theory or approach? Do they support the approach?
