Your Assignment

Paper 4: Take A Position Based on Research

You will write an essay in which you take a position on the social/political issue you have chosen. You will present a clear thesis indicating your position, which will control/guide the essay. It should be based on your research of the causes and effects of the “problem,” followed by a carefully considered solution(s). You do not need to create your own solution, but discuss a proposal or two that you find most promising, or perhaps a combination. Your paper should be approx. 2000 words, approx. 7 pages with at least as many sources (at least 7-8).

Sources

Your paper should rely on 7-8 sources from your research including:

  • the 3 sources you found online
  • at least 4-5 academic sources from Luria Library databases

Cite your sources using MLA format.
