If you use screenshots of, or information about, the library website or the library catalog (books+) in your syllabi, assignments, other course material, and/or in Canvas, you will need to update this information for your Spring 2020 courses.
If you use links to books or other resources from books+, including links to items on reserve in the library (i.e. links that include “worldcat” in them, like this one: https://sbcc.on.worldcat.org/oclc/310399335), you will need to generate new links by finding those resources through OneSearch and selecting the permalink icon, as shown below:
Your new link will begin with: https://caccl-sbarbara.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/permalink/...
If you use links generated from within individual library databases, you do not need to make any changes to those links.
If you would like to share direct links to individual databases, or to articles, books, or other sources within Luria Library databases, follow the instructions below:
If you use links to library research guides such as this one, you will need to update those links to reflect the change in the root URL from sbcc.libguides.com to libguides.sbcc.edu before the old URLs stop working in mid February 2020. Just change that portion of your links.
For example, you would change https://sbcc.libguides.com/onesearch to https://libguides.sbcc.edu/onesearch
For do-it-yourself help, watch the OneSearch introduction video:
Librarians are happy to provide one-on-one help anytime during the spring semester. Stop by the library or contact any librarian to schedule a convenient time for you.
As always, librarians are available to provide research and information literacy workshops for individual classes. Contact Ellen Carey (eecarey@sbcc.edu) to schedule a workshop.
Please use our online contact form to let us know if you have any questions or encounter any problems with either the new library website or the new OneSearch interface.
